Privacy notice
The Skill Pass, run by upGrad X at its learning centres.
What we collect
- Your name, WhatsApp number, email (if you give it), degree, year, pass-out year, college and whether you're a fresher.
- How you found us: the link you came from, if any, and what you tell us.
- The classes you book, and whether you came: when you checked in and got your stamp, and how (QR, location or the desk).
- Your answers to the two questions after each class, and the choices you tick.
- When you check in with your phone's location, we work out how far you are from the centre and keep only that distance (to the nearest 10 metres) and how precise your phone was. We never keep where you are.
- A random code for this phone's browser, so the desk can see if one phone checks in two people.
- Your network address, only as a scrambled code, to stop sign-in codes being misused. It's deleted after 2 days.
- If you confirm your number but don't finish registering, we keep your number and when you confirmed it, separately from registered students.
Why
- To book your seats, check you in and keep your Skill Pass stamps.
- To send your sign-in code on WhatsApp, and class reminders if you ask for them.
- To call you about a free counselling session, only if you tick that box.
Who sees it
Staff at the centre see your name and the last two digits of your number. Your full number and email are seen only by the few upGrad X staff allowed to, such as the admissions team if you ask for counselling. Your college does not see your attendance unless you agree to it. We don't sell your details.
How long we keep it
- Sign-in codes: one day.
- Your sign-in on this phone: until 60 days after you last used it, or until you sign out.
- Your details, bookings and attendance: while The Skill Pass runs, and until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices
You can change what you agreed to, or ask us to delete your details, at the centre desk at any time. When we delete them, your name, number, email and studies are removed and you're signed out; we keep only counts that don't identify you.
Questions or complaints about your data: ask at the centre desk.
